first off, i am very sorry. i can empathasize. i know how i feel when i am seperated from Java )i( much less if he could be gone for ever. i truly hope you do find chewy. second, if someone picked up the sock and found the animal, they may not have known what it was ans may have taken it to the local animal shelter. try calling. it can't hurt, and you will feel better knowing that you tried everything.
second, since it is an exotic pet, contact your local t.v. stations, ask them if they have ever heard of a sugar glider, then they will be interested. because it is so unusual they can use it to boost viewers and you can use them to find chewy, plus with it being public, that may put pressure on the museum to help you find chewy. of course, they may ban gliders from the museum, but that is alright. you could have your baby back. good luck. blessed be
