I'm impressed already! I have had my gliders for approximately two years. They are only "feed me and let me play gliders". The pair that live together (Loco and Bonita) will willingly come out of their cage and run all over the room and use me like a piece of furniture every now and then.
But the one that I use to carry with me to work in my pocket everyday (Charla), the only glider that I have had since she was a baby, is very skitish and getting her to come out of her cage is like pulling teeth!
In fact, I have been sitting here for the last half hour with her door open and she is perfectly content with staying inside. She will come over to the door and hang all upside down and look out, but would rather stay inside the cage. (She has been attacked several times by one of my other gliders - another female - and she is very jumpy.)
I will be glad when she can come out of the cage on her own initiative and play. So, in my opinion, you have already made progress. Keep up the good work.
