I am also a new sugar glider owner, I have mine ordered they will arrive tomorrow.
I am from New Orleans Louisiana and sugar gliders are not as popular here. No one
even knows what they are. The stores here do not carry any supplies for them.
I have a friend that has one but the only thing he feeds his is fruits & veggies
& cat food. However, his is still young if I had to guess I would say about 12 weeks old
His glider sleeps on the heat rock (he only has one) I have purchased 2.
I read in your last response to someones letter, your gliders drink glideraid and leadbeaters?
What is that? and can it be substituted with hummingbird nectar?
Here in the south we are not familar with their likes & dislikes.
We decided to get 2 babies, not sure if they are female or male yet.
We had hamsters and after about 3 or 4 years they die and we have 4 children who cry everytime
their life span is so short. Our children are not babies, our youngest is 10 years old.
I hear they adapt well to family members. I have read they become attached like guina pigs.
I read they do not bite if faised to be held and they do require a lot of time. With 6 in the
house alot of attention will be required. I have also read one of the story book stories and
I read where they get alon well with cats, what about dogs? We have 4 large dogs and a cat.
They all live happily ever after and get along well. The cat is very much loved and licked alot.
Do they adapt to the enviorment they are put in? meaning if i expose them to the family immdiately
will they except them better?
Lots of questions and no where to search but, the net.
