Karen...I just recenlty had a glider die a few months ago. I had not had her for long, but when it comes to gliders I thinkwe can love them so easily regardless if we have them for a few months of several years. The love between glider and owner can not even be described. I donated Sandys body so that my glider vet could learn more and help other glider in the future. From what I heard she did learn a lot and it is already helping other glider people. As we all know there is far too much unknown about gliders. It is our responsibility to be apart of the glider commuinty that is helping to educate. Every time a glider body is donated a different vet can learn more about gliders. This could in turn save the lives of gliders that come to that vet. It will also help that vet to be able to educate others. The body in your freezer is not your pet, your friend, your son, your glider, or your Charlie. It is now a body, even if he hasn't been buried. Bourbon helped me to realize that once they die their spirit is gone, it is no longer Charlie. You will have Charlie in your heart, mind, and memory forever. His spirit lives on in you, not in your freezer. No matter what happens to his body, you will always have him by your side, or on your shoulder.
