I have only heard of animals doing this when something is wrong. Do you think his scent gland was stopped up? Just a thought.

: I have a friend who teaches and her animals think they are human. So i know they are WELL taken care of.
: The problem is( She Called today)Her glider Pee Wee mutilated himself he tore at his scent gland on his
: chest till he killed himself. She took him to the vet and got antibiotics and med to go on the sore but woke up this morning and found he had tore his whole chest off
: (i am not trying to sound gross but warn you that if you have a single male consider having him neutered.
: I have heard if you have a male fixed when they are babies they wont mark territory or have any scent in their glands.
: The glider was about 2 years old and would not let a female stay in his cage. She tried a couple of times just so he would have a mate.He was one she raised with an eyedropper.
: She was a breeder until this past summer And her profession took to much time
: and she would rather give things away than deprive them of everyday TLC.
: If you have heard of this please respond as i sell male gliders unfixed all the time and i dont want ANY-body to go though this night-mare
: Thank you
