: : You know, i noticed that most of the complaints about biting gliders, nay, unfriendly gliders, come from those who purchase from pet shops. How do we get the word out to buy from breeders? I have had people visit me and my gliders and after the visit, never buy from a pet shop, but will wait until I have some little ones. I recommend that anyone interested visit a BREEDER rather than a PET SHOP. Let's get the word out!

: Hello,
: I did buy my glider from a breeder.. She only had one pair.. The environment was clean.. The gliders were not exactly friendy but I figured it was because they did not know my scent. Well my SG is the meanest little guy walking!! I don't attempt to touch him unless he comes to me.. and I still get bitten. My choice to buy a glider was not taken lightly... But when I read about taming and bonding I figured it would be a breeze. Well If I had found this site beforehand I would have discovered it wasn't that easy since lot of people have the same problem I do. A few of my friends had wanted to buy gliders after seeing mine and I told them straight up... It is not easy.. And I think people should read and read before buying one. Then make a final decision. Don't get me wrong I love my little guy even though he seems to hate me!!! Well thanks for listening to me... Linda

SORRY....I am just to lazy to erase the whole message...I know this is besides the point, but how long have you had the little guys? I got my two from a really EXCELLENT breeder and in the beginning I was having a little trouble with the male. The breeder was willing to exchange the glider for one that I thought would be satisfactory if the problem didn't clear up within a few weeks (fortunately it did). That is half the battle...someone who will be willing to work with you as you experiance difficulties. I know that would not be easy to convay to the pet-store crowd, but that is why I am glad I did my homework and found someone who would be wonderful. Anyhow...not to toot my own horn or anything at all just an observation....
Bonding for me was not cake, but now, after taking my gliders where ever I can, I have two wonderful, tame gliders. Hang in there!

Twinkle
