Although it does state some truths about the down-side of gliders as pets and discourages "fad" ownership, it also does have a few bad points and certainly needs to be updated for accuracy. They present a pretty "extreme" view that seems far overstated for emphasis of their point.
We ALL want responsible glider owners, but in my opinion this site is written poorly and implying that glider owners remain ignorant of the animals needs and have not attempted to educated themselves about the animal. (Remember, guys...this is just another opinion!)
I have seen many sites that tell of the down-side of glider ownership with far more accuracy and less bias. (I have also seen sites that downplay the down-side a bit too much!) Also, I think stating "rumors" is a bit unprofessional, and they should stick to what they know as fact. Although I AGREE TOTALLY with the CONCEPT they are trying to get accross, they could be encouraging animal activists to ban glider ownership completely (yes, this can and does happen!) and also may discourage a person who would potentially make a great and responsible glider owner.
I can honestly say that if I had read that site before getting a glider, I probably would have reconsidered my decision. (As I was looking for my best option for a new pet, I found many animals that were "so cute"... but definitely not for me by their web page descriptions!)
I now own six gliders, and they are the greatest pet for ME! My gliders get plenty of love and attention, proper vet care, proper diet. I am glad I never saw that page before my decision....I may have walked off thinking that a person couldn't possibly handle this animal without breaking its bones or being viciously attacked on a regular basis!!
