Ok Ok OK, maybe not expert, but i do have alot of experience with these nasty things. I have several lizards in the house, so i have to keep my crickets stockpiled. here are a few suggestions about keeping crickets:

1) keep them in a small tank or preferably they sell these plastic houses at pet stores labelled Reptile keepers, they run about $5-7 depending on size, and they are escape proof for crickets.

2) When you buy crickets at a petstore, they are generally mal-nutrioned.. starving. Before feeding them to any animal, make sure they are given some nourashing food, and preferable dust their food with calcium and vitamins. (this is called gut loading), that way, they are nutritious to the animal you are feeding.

3) In the "cricket house" provide water (in a shallow dish, so they do not drown", and also paper towel or bathroom rolls (this increases the surface area so that the crickets have plenty of room.

4) I never feed my pets crickets as soon as i come from the petstore, I always buy in advance, so that i can get them well fed and full of vitamins.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
