Thanks alot for the advice... I will try it. I was wondering if for now I could let him out in one of those hamster balls??? This way he could run all over the place and I could catch him without getting bitten. Also he could get used to me picking him up and he could see me as well as smell my scent. This wouldn't be a permanent thing. Since he is afraid of me I thought it might help him get used to me.. I could pick him up without actually having to grab him. What do you guys think????

He seems to like you! I made amazing progress with my hand chewing nasty female by offering maple syrup on my finger a lot. I use it as a training aide - ie. they get a lick when I take them out and put them in the pouch. They get a lick when I take them from the pouch to the cage again. They get a lick if I put my hand in their cage when they're up and around at night. Now they see my hand as positive and I haven't been bitten in a while now. In fact, by golly, I think she actually likes me and it's getting better every day. As for letting them out, I personally would wait till they are a little tamer - or you could use some cotton gloves. Also, what about starting off with a really small room, like the bathroom. That way the chase isn't too big. Bring a book in there, sit and read (close the toilet seat!) and I bet they'll climb and explore the bathroom and you. Then to bring them back to the cage, you could put them in the pouch. Good luck. But do the maple syrup, they love it.

: : Hello all,
: : I finally got my SG to sleep in the pouch!! Now all I have to do is get his to stay there while I put it on!!!! He still is nasty.. but he won't bite unless I try to touch him or pick him up.. I'm still working on that!!! He is about 10 months old now and boy can he bite!!!!!!!! I've noticed he is very moody.. one day he's nice the next he's not. Maybe he is just going through adolecence???? I let him out once.. the second he jumped out when I opened the door.. But I have a very hard time getting him back in the cage and now he breaks the skin when he bites. Should I let him run around or should I wait till I have him a little more tame????? He loves to be out BUT I don't love what he does to my skin.. He litterally takes chunks out of me.
: : Another question I have is he loves to rub the scent gland on top of his head on my hair!!!! he will grab my hair through the bars and proceed to rub it all over my hair... Is he trying to mark me?? What is he doing??? Mind you my hair does not smell too good after he done with it!!!
: : Well as you can all tell I'm new to gliders and always full of questions. Well thanks everyone..
: : Linda
