Repcal is phosphorous free; you may have a different brand that sounds similiar. Too much phosphorous will inhibit the absorption into the body, which would render the calcium useless. Recal has one with vitamin D3 added. This vitamin is necessary for calcium absorption. This vitamin can be made in the body, if enough UV light is given, such as natural sunlight. That is why most indoor animals should have vitamin D3 added in the diet and full spectrum lighting provided. I hope this shed some light on the importance of calcium, phosphorous-free, and lighting. I know this has been critical for chameleons.
PS. You can find Repcal at Petsmart.
