Hi! sorry about the pun... seriuosly, i bought some of the sanded bird perch covers and they work wonderfully. i don't have to trim, he doesn't have to stress. i have seen no sign that they make the nails chip, crack, etc. and his feet do not show any signs of cuts, etc. he doesn't chew on them. they seem to make life a lot easier. hope that helps.... blessed be!
