This little re-homed Glider is just so darn adorable. He crawls down my shirt into my bra down by my arm pit, snuggles up and starts get all cozy and sleepy. He seems to love the warm skin part. So tame and loving. His previous owners must have treated him very good. My hubby just shakes his head at me running around the house with a animal in my bra! I think it is great bonding though :) |

LOL most of mine are all fidgety too. They come to me when I call them, and they hide on me when someone or something scares them.. but all my bra babies grew out of it :( |

Awwwww.... I can't wait until my girls settle down enough to do this! sad, sad, sad, I am sooo jealous right now. I wanna have fruit, mealies and chicken down my shirt too!!! Right now when they are on me they have NO INTEREST in settling down and getting cozy. They run all up and down my arms, back, legs and head!!!! They stand at attention on my head like GO MOM, walk around, I wanna see EVERYTHING!!! |

I always take my glider out and lay on my bed to watch t.v. during the day (obviously if I don't have work that day lol), and I always put her under my shirt on my belly to go back to sleep. I think it keeps her warmer, and she loves to be close to me. Of course it tickles when she wakes up to lick all over. I guess she is trying to 'groom my bellybutton'! |

My baby goes in and doesn't come out until around 8pm! She does get fruits and water throughout the day, but it is very quick for her and she goes right back to sleep! |

The only time I've seen my husband jealous lately was when Elvin climbed into my bra, and was sleeping in "the valley"! Poor guy. Maybe if he was as sweet and cuddly with me as Elvin... |

I wear two shirts after I get off work and I tie the bottom of the outside shirt around my waist so she doesn't slip out on accident and she runs around the inside off my shirt sometimes goes to sleep all evening while I watch tv or surf the web. |

Hey, did you post those pics of the new cages? I'd love to see em :)

Mothers can make you crazy and so can other non glider owners. They just dont get it. Gliders in your bra, down your shirt and camping out on your back and not leaning back for an hour sounds about right to me. We do understand each other. Talking about an obsession with keeping toilet seats down and all the other things that "those other people" don't have a clue about. My mother passed away about 10 years ago but I have a son. Sweet child that he is. LOL He has been thinking I am nuts for a while now. He was over here on Sunday and I had gotten 2 new cage sets in the mail on Saturday and I was showing them off. (I could see the eyes rolling) Later on in the day though we were talking and he actually looked like he got it when he said "Mom you are really committed to these guys aren't you?". Well duh!!!!! He didn't even act like I should be committed for once. He is probably keeping his thoughts to himself and thinks I should be but at least he didn't say so so that's a step.

Yes Misty I sure did, I told someone about taking on some more Gliders to make a little family, less the baby aspect. I would neuter all males that would be in my home, but I got the whole, why thing? My answer was, look at my parrots, what do you expect from me, I love things to a fault, and when I take on a living creature I want to provide it with what it needs. And I for sure know my little boy needs a friend to keep him company in the evening when Momma is sleeping. I do so many things with my birds that people just dont get, but I do so again, when someone lectures you Misty, just laugh inside and think in your head: "Blah, Blah, Blah, Hiss, Hiss, Crab, Crab, Blah! Good for you for at least knowing this little one needs a friend. Although things like cost and time and such come into play you have a great heart and would make a nice home for any pet I am sure you would own! |
BabyGirl Posted - Jan 21 2009 : 06:46:16 PM
I felt that way this morning when my mother called to check on BabyGirl, we got on the topic of why it happened. I told her Baby needed a companion, all I heard were groans on the other end of the line! "Misty you don't need to take on another animal! Being a single mother of 2, and 4 other animals to care for!" Blah, blah, blah! I couldn't do anything but laugh. Think it pissed her off! Anyone else having these discussions with non-glider people today??? LMAO |

You got that right! That's how I keep my cool around non-glider people. Remind myself they don't know :) So, then it's all good! As long as I know that's all that matters. |

Nothing against your aunt, but how do non-glider people know that gliders aren't the best pet? If they don't own them, they can't possibly know. |
SugarKitty Posted - Jan 21 2009 : 05:01:38 PM
LOL BabyGirl, I sooo get that one! All I hear when people do that to me is Blah, Blah, Blah, Hiss, Blah, Hiss, Crab! |

It is such a great little feeling having them close to your skin all snuggle up, waking up on occasion just to give tiny little licks. All of my friends already think of me as the Silly Parrot lady, so this just adds to my weirdness! Giving these little ones all of the love and attention keeps me from getting any ideas of another human baby! LOL |
sugarnanny Posted - Jan 21 2009 : 09:23:21 AM
WHAT!!!!! doesn't everyone have a glider in the shirt/blouse |

Its not us that have gone over the edge. Its all those non-glider loving people out there. We all understand each other and therefor, its perfectly normal to go around with a glider or two in your bra! |
AngieH Posted - Jan 20 2009 : 01:01:55 AM
Sounds normal to me :) |
BabyGirl Posted - Jan 19 2009 : 11:55:19 PM
Nahhhh - you haven't gone over the edge, they just don't understand! LOL BabyGirl does the same thing! Not to make this about me, but a little advance warning - Make sure you keep your arms away from your little buddy when he's sleeping under your arms! Baby will wake up sometimes and not understand what my arm is doing there, and take a nip at it! Hun, it doesn't feel so good either!!! haha |
