Thoery love his mealies so I've only been using them for bonding treats. The first day I was so excited to show hubby how Theory snached them out of my fingers. I got out an especially wiggly mealie and held it out for Theory. He got all excited and went to grab his snack just as it moved and he got my finger instead! Theory gave me a look of "sorry mom" as my husband laughed hystarically as I nursed my sore finger. lesson learded, use the feeding tongs for mealies, fingers for non moving food!

i have a few that will reach thru the cage bars and snatch, but i have one girl that i swear doesn't see well. she gets my thumb all the time. sigh, it is beginning to toughen up. i like the snatching though, as well as being safer for my fingers, it is hilarious to watch how far they will reach out. then i have a few that will politely take them with their mouths in a genteel manner.

I found my tongs in the reptile section. They are a bright yellow plastic. It didn't take Theory long to recognize that tongs=mealworms lol.

They sell 'em at pet stores. PetSmart has 'em near the feeder insects and lizard, iguana stuff.

LOL! Yep...my Zoey got me as I held a flapping moth betweet my thumb and forefinger! It wasn't her fault, she saw all that fluttering and she had one main goal!

They pounce/attack just like a cat...they are quite the mighty hunters!
