That moment when you realize that what you had been doing could have been a lot easier when...

(Mine is going to be long)

On Sunday I trimmed the girls nails after getting them home and realized how easy they were to do. Wishing the boys acted that good when doing nail trims.

Today (more like 30 mins ago) I took the boys out to trim their nails because they were glider talons. I hadn't trimmed them in over a month and it was simply getting out of control. Now I have watched Ed's from the LGR video on trimming nails a dozen times. I've never been good at holding them on my chest/stomach the way he does. Why I didn't think of setting them on my lap and doing the exact same thing until today is beyond me! Most nail trim days mean lots of kisses after being bitten a couple times and using a fleece blanket to wrap the glider up in and carefully pulling out feet to trim nails.

When I took Gimmick out (after already doing Gadget and getting bit by Gizmo three times) I placed him on my lap with the fleece over his body and held him the way Ed does in the video only he was on my lap. AHA! That was so much easier and there was not a single crab or bite!!

I got lucky with my first girl. Kritter didn't mind it at all, I could just set her in a shirt balled up and grab one little hand at a time and she wouldn't move or make a peep. Then I got Alice... You would think I was cutting her toes off the way she crabbed after each nail. The difference early socialization makes...

Trimming my babies are so hard, they always put up a struggle even though I give them treats to distract them. But thanks to nail trimmer tracks I don't have to do it as much! :)

Bravo! Haha and thank you! Now I'm going to try that to see if I can save a 45 minute fight with Stitch.
