Well Avis is doing really good. She had her IV chemo last Friday and we do it again here in Jan then back to Denver in Feb for spinal tap and IV Chemo. We are counting the months that she is done with chemo. We are all excited about May to come. I thought I let you all know how she is doing. I like to wish everyone of you have a Merry Christmas and a wounder full New Year too :) .

Evelyn...this is wonderful news!!!! Im so happy for all of you. Avis is a very brave little girl who is going to grow up to be a beautiful woman. It takes a lot of strength to go thru an illness like this with your child. You have certainly exhibited a lot of strength the last 2 years. I admire you.

Thank you for updating us. Tell Avis I pray for her all the time and will continue to do so. <<hugs>>

Sorry I haven't been on in a while been busy. We went to Denver last Thursday for Avis's IV Chemo and spinal tap that was bone on last Friday. Every thing went good but I got some news that day too. Ok you all need to sit down for this news....... Ok you sitting down? Ok now to the good news. As of May 29th Avis's will be done with every thing. No more IV chemo or spinal tap. No more chemo pills eather. Yes she will be in remission but she will have to have a CBC done once a month and every 6 months we will have to go Denver for a check up to make sure she is still in remission. On the first week or the 2nd week of June I am going to throw her a remission party so she can celebrate with all her family and friends that she is done. We are all so excited here about May comeing up. I been looking for this day for almost 2 years now and in 6 months it will be here. Well I got to run and get some stuff done. I hope you all had a vary good Thanksgiving Day.

Evelyn, Im so sorry to hear this. Losing a child is the worst possible thing to ever go thru.

His family will be in my prayers.

It's good to hear that Avis is still doing well. Do you know when her chemo will end? I agree with Kylah - Avis is beautiful with or without hair!

kyro298 Posted - Oct 04 2010 : 09:15:33 AM
So sorry to hear that, Evelyn...that tears me up. Our good friends lost their 9 year old daughter less than 2 months ago and it's so incredibly raw. They're definitely in our thoughts and prayers, as are all of you. Luckily, Avis looks gorgeous with no hair! :)
tink761 Posted - Oct 04 2010 : 03:21:05 AM
Sorry I haven't up dated in a while. Lot has happened lately. Avis is doing really good but Saturday we had some really bad new. A friend of mine lost her 12 year old and my kids grow up with him and his sisters. He was trying to put up a rope swing in a tree and fell out and got stuck on the rope. It was accidental haying. This all happened at there dad's house. I have her oldest girl with me tonight and her sister is staying with a friend. It is really hard to stay at there dad's house because of the tree and there mom's house has alot of memories. So if you can please put my friend and her family in your prays too. This a terrible loss for her family and ours. I was there when he came in the world and been there all of his live. His name is Tharin Zippler and he was 12 years old.

Avis is doing really good. They did up her IV chemo so her hair started to fall out more so we went ahead and shaved her again. We are now home for 2 months then back to Denver on the 3rd month so next month we head back to Denver for her spinal tap and iv chemo then we are home tell February 2011.
Well I better head to bed so I can get up and call the schools and let them know Avis's sister and brother won't be in school. They are taking it really hard with the death of there friend so I am going to keep them home. The memorial service will be Tuesday or Wednesday but we will find out tomorrow afternoon. But please if you all can pray for my friend and her family throw this time of need.
Thank you all,
Evelyn (tink761)

Well we head back to Denver on the 26th for Avis's IV chemo and spinal tap on the 27th. After this trip we will be home for 2 months then go back in November. We will be able to do IV chemo here for 2 months. She is doing really good but the hair she did get is starting to thin out again. She can't wait to be done with chemo so her hair with stay. She starts her schooling on the 24th here at the house. My other 2 kids don't start tell the 31st and Avis is so excited for that because they won't be in the house all day bugging her lol. Well I go to go but I thought I give you all an up date on her. I will let you all know how everything went in Denver and what the bone Dr said about her knees.

Hugs Avis! I am sure that is hard to deal with. But you are such a beautiful young lady inside and out and you will be able to get over this. Be strong! We all love and care about you!
tink761 Posted - Jul 26 2010 : 05:43:14 PM
Well we had a good weekend. The High School Rodeo was in town and Avis got to go and watch it. She met a 19 year bare back rider that has been cancer free since he was 4 years old. They be came friends. But today was kinda not a good day though. Her hair was starting to fall out again so we had to finish taking it off. I call her cancer Dr. and they said it is normal even on chemo pills. So when they upped her chemo pills that is what caused her hair to fall out again. So we have a vary pretty young lady in our house again. but I got to run but i thought I let you know how she is doing.

I am new but have spent the last couple of hours reading this, I just wanted to let you know how proud I am of someone I haven't even met. You and your family are awesome for being able to strive on and push through all this. My grandmother as well as a cousin have both gone through cancer and I know it is rough on a family. Stay strong and just know my thoughts and prayers are going out to you.

tink761 Posted - Jul 08 2010 : 07:42:09 PM
Well Avis is doing good but she had an oops last night. Her little brother took her down backwards to fast and she fell out of the wheelchair. I had to take her the Dr office today due to swelling and black n blue on the left knee. They did ex-rays on that knee so we know tomorrow what the ex-ray says. I will let you all know what I find out.
