I'm way too bored. I'm wondering what everyone listens to? Music is/was a huge part of my life. For about 4 years I toured in a band pretty full time and it owned nearly every second of my life. That life is mostly behind me, but I still dig and love so much music. Anyone passionate about any bands/artists? |

I met her before she ever dj'ed at a party and now she's been to Dubai and literally all over the world to DJ! Anyway, I also like various artists: Circa Survive, Coldplay, Duffy, The Faint, Kenna, The Killers, The Knife, Taking Back Sunday, Tegan and Sara, Gorillaz, Deftones...ok you probably get the gist. And I'm sure 98.9% of the people here don't know what I'm talking about. Oh, and beside all that...I occasionally like a few songs on the radio. My favorite right now is Jay-Z feat Alicia Keys "Empire State of Mind"...that song is AMAZING!
Tegan and Sara is what 'cute' sounds like. i used to listen to them quite a bit. |

Tisha - I know what you are talking about . We used to listen to a lot of dance music at the Lake. My husband likes it and plays it a lot on satelight radio in the car. I have to be in the right frame of mind for it, but I can get into it if I am. |

I like ALL types of music.Everything from the 50's-today; rock, metal, pop, country, gospel, bluegrass(some) and hip-hop but ONLY from the 80's and VERY early 90's.Before it got offensive. Some of my faves are Cinderella(actually only 2 songs), Jason Mraz and soo many others. OH and I love Eddie Rabbit!! |

I like lots of different music, but mainly hard rock and country. I love Rob Zombie, 3 days grace, puddle of mud, and metallica. I also love Diercks Bentley, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, and Blake Shelton. I seem to get bored so I will go through long phases of listening to one kind than switch to another.
Funny I am the same way. Right now I am listening to mainly country thanks to my huge country fan son. I can't have anything else on in the car! He loves Kenny Chesney. And so do I he is a great entertainer. I can appreciate and enjoy almost any type of music. Rap isn't my favorite, but I can enjoy some of it. It is the beat that gets me.
Yeah I don't do rap either, the closest I get is pop. I do like Pink and some ladygaga, but not a lot. There is another group, but I can't think of what it is that I like, but I mainly switch between the hard rock and country, my husband also loves Kenny Chesney and Montgomery Gentry. |

I love everything except polka.... my favourite is 90's electronica and definitely country. I like everything from RATM to Shania Twain to Joss Stone and even Fallout Boy. Music runs my life, thus the reason I want to go into Radio Broadcasting. |

Oh, I like Portishead, too! They're a very interesting group! You lucky, lucky guy! I would LOVE to go see Radiohead live. I even have a glider named after Thom Yorke...though his name is "Tommy". When Tommy was a joey, he looked remarkably like Thom Yorke in this concert DVD we have. I instantly named him Tommy! Most of my gliders are named after professional musicians we admire. We don't have a Dizzy (after Dizzy Gillespie), Charlie (after Charlie Parker), or Johnny (after John Coltrane and Johnny Greenwood) at this point. We do, however, have Elvin (after jazz drummer Elvin Jones), Tommy (already explained), Miles (Miles Davis), Billy (Billy Strayhorn), Jaco (Jaco Pastorius), and Yuri (violist Yuri Bashmet). We had three rescue girls named after Ella Fitzgerald, Midori (the violinist), and Hilary (Hilary Hahn, in my opinion, one of the greatest violinists that has ever graced our planet). I rehomed these three girlies to Staci, tballetoes.

Ummmmm - let me think. There's ELVIS. And then there is ELVIS! Throw some Beatles in and Rita is one happy person. Actually, I am musically stuck in the 60's, 70's and 80's. But love all music. Elvis - Burning Love

Whoa, this is MY topic! If the musicians are great, I tend to appreciate and enjoy just about any genre of music, from classical Asian (we actually have classical Chinese and South Pacific recordings in our collection) to progressive metal (I am a huge Tool fan and really like Mastadon, too--I think this shocks the beans outta people when they see this "typical" chunky 40+ year old mom, who likes this stuff!LOL!) to Western classical/symphonic/chamber music to Jazz. I even like some classic Country music, but am not a big fan of a lot of the newer country. I love Alison Krause(sp?), though. She's an incredible musician, and she has some amazing musicians working with her. I'm also a die hard Radiohead fan! My "getting going" CD on a lot of mornings during my long commute to my previous job was the Pixies "Surfer Rosa" CD. I can't even give you an educated argument on why THAT particular CD is great to me--it's just fun. My husband and I were both music majors in college. I'm a violist and violinist, and he's a drummer/percussionist. We've known each other since middle school, and also went to the same university together. The thing that originally brought us together was that we were both sort of like musical "foodies", if you know what I mean! If it's great music (which we don't always totally agree on!), we like it, regardless of it's origins or genre.

I grew up with classical music, and I love it too. I have my father's record collection which dates back to the 1950s -- vinyl, my friend! My favorites are Stravinsky and Tchaikovsky -- Russian passion! Lots of others too, my taste is pretty eclectic. We always listen to classical at Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. My overall favorite for every day is classic rock and roll, from the 60s and 70s. I love Led Zep, the Stones, the Doors, the Who, Queen, Yes, Santana, the Moody Blues, Emerson, Lake and Palmer ... a lot of classical influence there too. |
Mrpianowizard Posted - Nov 14 2009 : 11:54:52 PM
Well, I listen to classical. All my friends joke around and tease me about listening to it. lol (in a friend tease way) But I love listening to Bach, Mozart, Liszt, and espiacially Chopin and Rachmaninoff I aspire to be a concert pianist when I grow up. What's cool about being a concert pianist, is that you get to always be around the thing you love, you never get bored of it, AND YOU GET PAYED! It's amazing. |

I'm not that into any modern country.. but my job that i got laid off from hand built a lot of custom guitar equipment for big time country talent like paisley, gretchen wilson, etc. we did a lot of rock stuff too... but those country musicians really loved our stuff and put lots of custom orders in with a lot of backstage/vip passes. |
fadedrainbows Posted - Nov 14 2009 : 11:14:27 PM
I'm really into country [from Texas, I can't help it]. Some of my all time favorites are George Strait, Blake Shelton and Tracy Lawrence. |
