How do i get my sugar glider (that is bonded to me)to bond with my new sugar glider that i rescued (has not bonded to me). How should i introduce them and when?.. they are both males and both around 6 months

lol thats a good point!... is there any advise yall can give me with taking care of a rescue sugar glider?? i want to do as good as i can! i would aprecciate(<-cant spell) it if yall would help me :)

Yes, they do better together. A lot of times you may have one that is slow to bond but when they get with a previous glider they follow their lead... they watch as that glider trusts you and they begin to realize this big, funny looking thing that is always trying to grab them with their big 'ol paws isn't so bad.

I wont rush them to bond.. i feel i should let the new glider bond to me before i introduce them bc i feel like i am back at stage one with the crabbing. I enjoyed bonding with my first glider and i am prepared to do it again. i figured that my suggie would do better with a friend...... Am i right???like i said kinda new to this

Make sure the vet visit includes a wellness exam and a fecal float & smear(you will probably need to request those). That should be repeated at the end of 30 days. Dehydration often has an underlying cause such as a parasite or bacterial infection so you want to make sure he is feeling his best before you attempt intros and so that he doesn't end up passing something to your other glider.

Like Jazz pointed out, this next 30 days is the time to bond with him - its much easier doing intros with gliders you can handle and that trust you. Typical bonding activities include tent time, carrying him on you(in a pocket, pouch, etc.), talking to him through the cage, and hand feeding him treats.

Just make sure they both get a clean bill of health from your vet, then begin bonding with your new guy as you get him nice and healthy.

He will begin to trust you and you can do the pouch swapping so he becomes familiar with your other gliders' scent. You don't want to blindside him...ease into it, nice a slow. And just because you can do intros in 30 days doesn't mean you have to. If he/they aren't ready, don't rush it.

Gliders enjoy eachothers company. Odds are, if they are both neutered and they have both been alone, they will get along just fine...

Each one gets lonely for glider company so when they finally get that chance they usually grab right onto eachother. Obviously I can't guarantee this but the odds are good.

Go up top under GLIDERPEDIA and search Introductions.

They both need a vet visit then you need to keep them apart for 30 days, then do another vet visit. More details in Gliderpedia.
