im now looking for someone to come rescue the gosling. i have emailed 2 people so far. i got a closer look at it today and i can see that its very badly broken and swollen. but i dont have a good feeling about being able to get help. there is probably some reason they cant help it or tell us to just to do it ourselves or something like they did with the fox. but there is no way i can catch it on my own since its in the pond. |

the pond doesnt belong to us. it belongs to the neighborhood. we just happen to live next to it lol. i have also watched over goslings and mallard ducklings who didnt have parents. i think the gosling just had something wrong with it because it just didnt look right. a mama mallard flew off leaving her duckling behind i kept an eye on it for days but she didnt come back like she normally had but thankfully another mama mallard took it in. then she flew off leaving the 2 behind but they were old enough i guess to take care of themselves. i kept an eye on them and fed them every day. they survived to become adults. right now im watching a gosling with a hurt foot and giving it food. its parent is still around. the foot should get better on its own its happen to my ducks before, its the stupid snapping turtles >.< i wish there were people like you around here. if we called the conservation people they would just tell us to shoot it like they told us to do with the fox. |

she is doing great! today i saw her hanging out with dash my white call duck and his mallard friend earlier today. i hope she ends up with him he is too submissive and small to stand a chance against my bigger ducks. he also lost his blue swedish mate earlier this year. also saw silly-willy's mate today for the first time in days so im guessing she is still sitting on her nest :) im thinking about putting another ad out and maybe rescuing more |

I like ducks. Bought one for my dad many years ago. That was an experience. We eventually released it. That is the part about Easter I hate. People buy ducks, rabbits and get rid of them after a little while. |

having pet ducks is great! they have so much personality. just fed them and she is doing good. she knows to eat from the feeder. then went off to hang out with a mallard. ill keep you all updated on how she is doing. |

I always wanted ducks, but where we live they wouldn't feel safe I don't think. Too much going on. |

just checked on her this morning. she is doing great! i told ollie(my orphan black swedish duck you can see him in the first video next to her) to take care of her yesterday and he is. found her hanging out with ollie on the other side of the lake. he still doesnt want her right next to her but at least he is letting her hang around with him. he was brought up in a similar way. i raised him on his own till he could be put in the lake but the others didnt accept him till he started quacking. im guessing it has to do with them still being a duckling and the adult ducks dont want them around. erica-i didnt post the video of willow charging at her lol XD |
