So one of my suggies, Mogwai, loves to run around in his run-about-ball around the house when he first wakes up and LOVES it. he'll chase me and hubby around and its the funniest little thing~ however, i heard from someone that they are not safe for sugar gliders because of their feet. but Mogwai has been rolling around in one for months now i dont see a problem....

I personally would feel very bad for mine in a ball...they wouldn't be able to jump and glide like they normally do....and I know my gliders don't feel comfortable on the ground. Most gliders don't like to be on floor level for fear of predators.

I think it depends on you and your suggie. Some like it, some don't, and sometimes it can be a safety hazard, especially if your suggie has long nails.

I tried a ball once, but mine too did not like it a bit.

I would encourage mine to go "potty" before and they loved it! I would put my two in the same one and then it was a battle for which direction to go in. I do have to admit that once I asked my sister to watch them so I could use the bathroom and as I was washing my hands, I heard a bump a couple or times. I ran out and they had taken the stairs full force. I felt horrible of course but they didnt seem to be bothered, kept chasing the cat, thats for sure. Still kept a closer eye on them after that lol

I have heard to many stories of little feet and toes getting hurt in them. Plus, the poo and pee being flung all over them wouldnt be fun for them as they do like to be clean.

I had one for my rescues... years ago.
I think I used it 2 times... and decided they did not like it! They would hit the walls and crab!

mine were also scared to death of it just sat there and looked at me like I was punishing them lol so I trned it into a nesting ball in the top of their home with some fleese in it and they love it more than their pouches now but not outside of the cage :)

Every glider/owner is different. I tried one once when I first brought my girls home and they were petrified of it and hated it. They can run in their pee and poo and there have been stories of little feet/hands getting caught in them. Also, some gliders are way more adventurous than others. Some don't like being confined. Some people have stairs and it just presents a danger in their home. It's really personal preference more than anything...
