I've been thinking about having a contest as an incentive to get people to contribute to the Gliderpedia. It's an election year, so I figure bribery is OK. I'll give some details about how it could possibly be done, but feel free to offer alternatives, and even chime in on whether you think this is a good idea or not, and probably most importantly let me know if this contest would get you to participate or not.

The contest would be based on contributions, and there are many ways to contribute to the Gliderpedia. I figure some sort of point system for judging might work best. Here are my first thoughts:
* 8 points - Creating a new article or page, no cited sources
* 15 to 20 points - Creating a new article or page, cited sources
* 2 points - Spelling and grammar corrections on an existing article
* 10 points - Rewriting an portion of an existing page (no cited sources) to add cited sources. (Essentially fact checking)
* 5 points - Finding and adding a citation for an existing article

So, thoughts? Suggestions? Opinions?

It's interesting. What kind of "prizes" could you get w/ the points or what will the points be used for? Also, it's sounds good for experienced suggie owners but not so much for the newbies.

Sounds a great idea Eric. People love to be bribed.

Maybe a mention of not plagirizing another person's work/website/article. Using it as a source yes (and citing source), but not copying it word for word.
