I use a mixture of lemon juice (fresh), vinegar and hot water to clean my suggies cage. The lemon is also a natural, non-toxic disinfectant and it makes the vinegar not smell so gross. Maybe you can add it to the topic, Eric :)

I have had a Shark hand held steamer for ever! I can not imagine my life with out one. I clean the windows, shower, furniture, you name it. And when I got my suggies, their cage was the next on my to-clean list :). I think it's wonderful! There's a lot of options to buying one.. Try ebay or google steam cleaner. Not sure if Amazon has them, but I don't know how any household does without it. They simply use water to clean, no rinse and re-rinse methods needed to make sure you are not leaving any chemicals behind. Highly recommended!

i like the smell of vinegar. im wanting a hand held steamer as well for christmas. any recommendations for which one to get that doesnt cost a lot?
i also just use vinegar and water on the cage and everything else in my room. and on the gliders toys and fleece, its good for everything lol. maybe using a steamer will help people who cant stand that smell.

I use vinegar and water. Just had a wonderful time cleaning the cage today. Now I smell like easter eggs (vinegar).

Thats what I want for Christmas even though the gliders aren't mine and I shouldn't be cleaning up after them.

eventually the cage will rot if you use to much lemon juice
