I think it's an old topic, but will allow myself to join anyhow!!

1. Members can add jokes to the joke place under the fun section!!

2. Personality and trivia quizes about gliders!! For example; are you ready for a pet glider? Are you a suggieexpert? And, If you where a sugar glider, would you be easy to bond?

Oh! And I believe this one would be an easy fix. I don't know about other people, but I prefer to buy things on Amazon over Ebay. Having some affiliate links to Amazon products as well as Ebay ones would give more chances at getting that sweet affiliation .05% or whatever ridiculously low amount it is.

I think it'd be nice to have a crafts or diy section of the forum. Somewhere where we can post tutorials or questions about projects, and show off our finished creations. Maybe three subsections, one for tutorials, one for questions, and one for showing off.

I like the ideas of somewhere to post recipes and somewhere to post cage set ideas and crafts and things. Lists of stuff! An OCDer's treat. XD

Are people not finding this vets map on here?

Could you start a spot on this site that people can recommend exotic pet vets by city and state? I need one in Virginia Beach, Virginia

This site is awesome and so well organized. One thing that I'd think would be cool is to have a section labeled "other pets" or something like that. Where I come from with that is that come one, When you have sugar gliders you usually have some exotics interest and I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people have other exotic pets along with their gliders. Exotic or not, I think I'd be nice to have a place to focus on our other fur babies as well. (I have chinchillas that I spoil just as much as my gliders and I'd love to have two forums in one lol).

I know this is from a really long time ago but maybe a webcam, just so we can talk to the persons face or see the little furball that they are talking about. Also, if that were to happen, group chats would be awesome!

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, however I'd like to see a category where people can post their cage/tent set ups to give others ideas on what to make or look for to buy their gliders. I'm relatively new to owning a glider and I don't mind making things or buying online from other glider shop owners but I lack resources on where to look and what exactly to look for. I've seen a couple pics of some gliders cages with the babies in them and it made it much more enjoyable too. =) thanks!

It's kind of like Facebook. The Admin of a group can make other members administrators of the group. I imagine when an Admin does this they know and trust the people they are promoting to administrator.

The same would go for you guys. Is there anyone here whom you feel you really know and whom you trust? I think trust is the issue. To put your forum in the hands of someone else to moderate requires you to know they will not abuse the responsibility that has been given to them.

You could go with the more participation the more moderation options, but there might be some people who participate a lot who you really wouldn't want to promote to moderator. The same really could be said in the opposite direction; I don't post much but I am the COO for a nutraceutical company and the Co-owner of a pet/home care business - I could be trusted. I'm literally just throwing myself in as an example; that sounded like I am volunteering

Maybe you should have people fill out an application. Even in volunteer positions people have to fill out applications. Furthermore have a written agreement with the people you bring on as moderators.

Yes there is. It was a conscious decision to prevent that. You are more than welcome to put that kind of stuff all over your profile.

Is there any way that you can program the site so that people can make signatures that would appear automatically at the end of their post?

A place to click or something where it can just be photos of their gliders, or a section of cages, or cage sets/themes. I love looking around at those type of things, i learned from them also, seeing what they used, the types of toys, wheels, fabrics, all of it! So i think a place dedicated to photos would be awesome =D

I think you could have random drawings! Ask a question once a month or once a week and who ever has the best answer gets a prize!!!!

Don't see that in the immediate future. I don't think we want to invite or encourage rants. Tracy, I think those days are long gone, unfortunately. Plus, the more popular these guys get, the more people are searching. The more people are using the internet, the more members with different ages, personalities and opinions. It certainly isn't the same as it was when I joined shortly after you and it sure is different!

they could always make a rant section on the forum.

State by State Poison Hotline numbers all in one section, maybe a Sub catagory under or above VETS.

Cut/copied from a post Sara(PetLuv) commented on....I think it's a good idea to have this for each state at our fingertips.

POISON HOTLINE FOR PETS!
Kansas State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital is offering a FREE poison control hotline for pet owners and veterinarian (Monday-Friday 8-5pm). 1+785-532-5679 is the number and the service has been available since 1969. Dr Oehme, a vet and professor in toxicology and pathology oversees the hotline.

It just occurred to me that it would be cool if you could tag someone like you can in FaceBook.

Like I just replied to a thread and directed a question at someone who may or may not ever see if. If I could tag the person, I would be more likely to get a reply... (I know, I COULD just PM them......)

I was wondering if you could add a feature to sort Topics/Authors alphabetically, Replies/Views by the highest/lowest number, and Last Post by date most recent/least recent. An example would be say I am searching through Research Information and I want to find the article with the most replies, have there be a down arrow next to reply with the options highest and lowest.

I've got a suggestion! Can we have a "WHERE CAN I FIND…" section? Say if you are looking for glider kitchens, a bunch of members can post their fav vendors.
