My husband and children bought me a sugar glider for mothers day, I am working on bonding with him but he is really crabby. I have also noticed that his poop is on the runny side and not completely solid. Can anyone help me with this? Also, yes I am a new owner. And no I didn't do much resrarch due to the fact it was a gift. We were at a pet store the week before and I just fell in love with them. So my family went back amd surprised me and I didnt even expect it. So im coming to yall to make sure I do it right. Thank yall

also..
gliders can take a lot time and work to bond with, but once bonded they are a great pet, either sleeping in your shirt during the day, or hanging out with you in the evening.

gliders stay crabby for awhile. it may take awhile to bond and get him to stop crabbing. In some cases there is always one glider that will crab in a colony, he is the alarm system. in our colony of six we have one that will crab from in the sleeping pouch. In our colony of 4 we have 2 that will crab IN the sleeping pouch. Once outside the pouch they see its you and stop crabbing. Our single glider is nice and starting to bond with us, but he is a wild crabber, very loud and long. We are putting him in with the 4 colony and hope he will slow down the crabbing.

We feed the Ohpw diet. it has the Ohpw liquid with fruits and veggies. we have very little problem with runny poo. It could be from the stress of a big move to a new home that is totally different with totally different smells. but you do want to keep an eye on the potty, diarrhea is bad for gliders and can cause dehydration which is also bad.
