Hi!
I give my sugar gliders mealworms ( or try to at least). They’re the freeze dried ones, because My Mom doesn’t like the live ones, and I know for a fact that she wouldn’t let me keep them in the freezer! ( I’ll admit, the live ones freak me out a bit too) Up until now, that’s all I thought there was. Freeze dried, and live. Then I heard about canned mealworms. I’ve heard that they still have the soft parts, but are still dead ( if that makes any sense) and lately my boys haven’t been interested in mealworms at all. ( I know there could be a lot of reasons for this) So I was thinking about getting some canned mealworms to give to them and see if they like it more. Has anybody else here tried them? Have your sugar gliders liked them? ( I probably should mention that before, all my gliders LOVED mealworms. It’s not that they aren’t eating or anything, they all eat perfectly fine.) is there any kind of canned mealworms that are bad or unsafe? And where should I get them?

From the BML diet page there is section that says not to use canned food referring to the fruits and vegetables.

"Do NOT feed the seeds of apples or the pits of cherries. You can use fresh or frozen, but do NOT used canned."

Not sure if that stays true for canned mealworms or not...
