Hello! i let my sugar babies out every night/every other night for an hour to let them jump around and exercise. they are also on a diet since they are a little over weight.

my question is this. i usually keep a glass of juice on my desk to drink while on my computer. i've noticed that when i let my sugar gliders out they drink from my juice cup multiple times during wandering time. (a male/female pair in particular do it a lot) if i try to cover the cup with my hand or something, they will try to 'dig' under the obstacle to reach the juice.

Should i get into the habit of putting my juice away before letting them out? or is it ok to let them drink from it freely?

p.s. sometimes the cup has the sugary powder flavor water mix (pretty sugary)

I have heard of gliders falling in glasses of liquid and passing away because they couldn’t get out. And no I wouldn’t let them drink the juice. The only juice I’ve ever given mine have been 100 percent apple juice with no sugar added and it has to be organic. Good luck with your babies!!

you should keep the extra sugar away from the gliders, I have read they can
get overweight easy, so that sugar probably isn't helping. I put ice water in my
artic cup when I'm in the glider room with them.
(P.S. that cane sugar is also very bad for you, I have read that all this
NON fat diets are NOT the problem, we have ALWAYS eaten fatty foods, but the
cane sugar in our diet is really bad. So I try to go sugar free with most
stuff, but I do cheat some, on the plus side, I haven't gained any more wieght
since going cane sugar free.)
