My baby girl has a lump inbetween her pouch and her cloaca, more towards her right side, which I only noticed about 12 hours ago. I'm very scared since it's rather large, about half the size of a grape. All the nearest vets are about an hour away as well since the one we have been going to recently moved across the country.

She's eating as normal, but a little less of everything. The only major difference in her diet is that I switched the brand of dried mealworms and she didn't seem to like them at first, but started eating them anyway. Her stool has been very small and string-like as well as wet as compared to normal. The spot seems to cause her discomfort casually, but it doesn't seem to bother her when I touch it. There's no wound there, it's all under the skin, but it was large enough for me to notice as she was walking about. It didn't seem to be here a few days ago that I can remember either...She has been overgrooming a little bit as well behind her eyes, which is her typical spot to when she's upset, but she hasn't yet at the lump site. I've given her a prune and some canned pumpkin a couple hours ago but it hasn't done much, if it would, within the 12 hours, assuming it's her being backed up. She also has never been housed with, let alone met in the past 8 years, a male glider before, so it can't be pregnancy.

Any thoughts would be great. I read that it could be anything from her just being backed up to cancer. I've been trying to get in touch with someone in the area in the case that this would need surgery of some kind, or emergency care, but no one has been able to. I'm still going to be scheduling a vet appointment, but I'd like at least a little bit of a piece of mind regarding a solution, because googling this is driving me crazy. It's currently 5am and I can do nothing about it. I spent half of yesterday contacting vet after vet in the area that I would readily be able to get to and can afford, but tomorrow will be spent trying to contact others out of area.

I'm so glad you found out and have started treatment! Congratulations and best of luck through the treatment.

Update in case someone ever finds this: Took her to the vet. Evelyn had a abscess/cyst inside her pouch with almost 0.5mL of fluid that got drained out of her! Absolutely astonishing. I can't believe I missed it. They don't know if it's cancerous or not but we have a followup in two weeks and the vet is very hopeful of her situation. There was also some stones as well that they found that the vet is unsure of, but she thinks it may be from the body trying to fight the infection and not something else. Evelyn is currently home and on an antibiotic and antiinflammatory. They also agreed she is a very squirmy girl and taught me kind of how to restrain her to feed her the medicine because while she is a very good girl, she's very nervous (like her mom) and needed to get a bit of gas to calm down a bit for the Xray and first dosage of medicine. We opted not to do a biopsy today since she may not need it, assuming she recovers as expected in two weeks. However, the vet has a specialist she will reccommend if it comes to that who could also tell us whether it's cancerous or not.

Overall, I'm hopeful, and I'm absolutely glad I took her ASAP instead of waiting it out and hoping I could solve it at home.

I couldn't get a picture since she is like me where she hates to sit still, let alone if you're holding her. But the picture the vet took (I couldn't stomach to take it home. I felt so horrible looking at it) showed there was a big, black sac in her pouch area when you opened it up. They briefly sedated her with gas and were able to take a look at it and get rid of as much fluid as possible inside of it. I kind of envy anyone who has a glider that will stay still long enough for them to get a good picture with them, but at the same time, I'm happy because that's my Evelyn, just like me.

I may end up posting a followup update in case it turns out it's cancerous but otherwise, I'm leaving this as is. I hope whoever finds this post in the future, you're able to get the help your sugar glider needs. I'm glad I didn't wait.

I hope you've been able to get to a vet! Maybe if you post a pic someone else might respond.
Best of luck to you! I hope you are able to find out what's wrong.

She has never seen a male in the past 8 years, so I don't think so.
