Hello!
I was just wondering if anyone has any experience putting an older glider (Gimli) with an established pair (Fionn and Luna)? I'm just looking for any insight. I have scent swapped off and on over the last two years for just this situation. Just swapped pouches today for the official first time since Gimli's cagemates died (waited to be sure they were all clear of parasites). I'm putting the cages about 8 inches apart at night. During the day I wear Gimli in one bonding pouch and Luna and Fionn in another bonding pouch next to each other for a little while.
Any other thoughts?

I've never had any issues with my gliders bonding really

But what I did was switch the cages they were in
That way their scents were all around them
So maybe you could try that?

It's so hard to be patient! I hate seeing Gimli all alone for the first time in his life. And he really seems like he wants to meet the other two.

Are there any signs that show they're all ready to meet?

How do you know when it's a good time to try an introduction?

Thank you so much for the advice!

my wife did most of the intros, I tend to freak out to easy. but she usually
did all of them for smaller colonies. this last time we tried to do 6 plus 2 and
gus is SO bossy with his 5 colony mates we did him alone with the two and it did
not go well.

with just 3 I would do them all but be ready, maybe a helper, to pull out
if they fight. you give one to the helper then you hold one and leave one in
the tub until you can figure out if you want to continue or not. sometimes they
have small but nasty spats at first then settle down. if its a ball up with lots
of nasty sounds then you know its a fight.

Thank you so much!
I actually took out all the other pouches for this reason:
It's so important that this works. This HAS to work. So I wanted each of the gliders to have to sleep in the scented pouch and get the other gliders scent all over them.

So here's an interesting thing that happened:
The lone glider, Gimli, had started making so many sounds! He's clicking and chirping so loudly! I like to think he's trying to sweet talk the other two gliders. So I think he's really interested in meeting his "cousins". And I hope all the sweet talk will convince the other two to accept him.

the one thing i did the last time is have 2 sleeping pouches in each cage, a clean unscented one and the one I swap. I started to notice the 4 would sleep in the one with conners scent, and conner would sleep in the one with the other 4's scent. not the clean ones. the intros went great.
BUT, the intro that failed, gus, part of my 6 colony is the alpha and he wouldn't
accept 2 new gliders, he had been fine in other intros, but this last time it was like he said NO MORE. both tries he would fight, big time.
so sometimes you can try several times but if one refuses, there is nothing
you can do.
do the scent training, take your time, and hope they are wanting more family
