For a little context I live in Vermont. I have had roscoe and momo for about 4 years now going on 5 actually this year (time flies) they’ve been absolutely fine, they get treats, they bark, they eat and no facial swelling.

Well I also have been attending college for the past for years and during that time I have had an ex taking care of them (gave them all the instructions and everything I knew in a pamphlet) and my now boyfriend who lives at my home with my mom. Both have taken great care of them and my now boyfriend loves them just as much as I do (to the point where he gets worried if they make a sound he doesn’t recognize lol)

While home I think about half a year ago I took roscoe to the vets because he had a bottom tooth that was in between his two front teeth. It was super alarming I had called the breeder asked them what they suggest before I called the vet. They suggested having it pulled and that if he did just make sure he has soft food.

Well I get to the vet, and I will never go back to him for sugar gliders stuff because he was against pulling the tooth, was going to trim the tooth down instead and was very dismissive about this forum and others experiences with repercussions of trimming their teeth. He didn’t even take an X-ray or look at it. Just had roscoe bite on a stick (which made him bleed) and said to see where the tooth is in a couple months.

The whole trip just put me off. There’s virtually no exotic vets in vermont around where I live. And again I’ve been at school so it’s been more than a few months. While trimming roscoes nails the other night I did check up on his tooth(teeth) and it’s more naturally in his mouth than before where it was sticking between the front two teeth.

I went on the pet gliders site and looked for relatively close vets they suggested in NH just in case. But while sitting next to his cage tonight I notice that yeah there’s a gap between his two front teeth but the bottom one isn’t sticking out anymore.

He barks
Climbs
Has no facial swelling I can see
Eats yogurt drops and TPG Diet
Still incredibly loving

The only other thing I noticed is he may not bite harder treats anymore like the mango or banana treats I have yet to see if he noms on his glider cereal. Could teeth ‘fix’ themselves after something like that?

I will have my own car eventually and will pick up annual vet visits when that happens as well as call tomorrow to see what this other places rates are. I’m just curious what others experiences are. Any and all advice on glider dentistry/experience is welcome here.
