Every morning I hear my Ju-Ju making sounds as she gets ready bed. As I did yesterday. I've been in and out of my room off and on throughout the day. Didn't see her out of her pouch, like I'm not suppose to, because she does usually come out until night starts to roll in. About 6-630PM Eastern time I'm in the living room and my husband comes from the room and says hun, I have bad news. I looked at him and he said Ju-Ju is dead. I was like no way your joking. He shook his head. I jumped over my couch and ran in the room and sure enough she is outside her pouch, laying on the bottom of the cage gone. When I went to pick her up, she was clinged to the cage for some reason. I can't wrap my head around why she was out of her pouch at that time of day. I've done nothing but cry. I took her cage down, her toys out, her wheel out, her feeding bowls, water bowl
out and her pouch. I sat her cage outside and cleaned her area up. I can't figure out what could of caused it. She was so sweet. She didn't crab at people, she would walk on you and jump from the people in the home and lucky ones that didn't live in the home. We do have mice running around, but I set traps not at her cage but near it, and catch it one that came near her, then my hubby came up with maybe it was too cold. Our room is the hottest during the summer and coldest during the winter, but when you turn on the central AC and shut the door it gets pretty cold, but she has been use to it. We have had her almost 2 yrs. But again she would of stayed in her pouch to keep warm like always. There has been several weeks were she has been crappy when no one was near her, but thought it was the mice messing with the cage, but before then she was crappy, she started pulling her fur off the tip of her tail. I changed her pouch and got her stuff that I found online that would help with stress. Which I don't know where it came from. Our dogs don't mess with her, unless the hear her when they are in the room with us and the sniff the cage and we say back up, but other than that nothing, the mice didn't come in until the past month, month and half. That happened about 6 months ago. I got her fish tails, and the help with coats and hair growth. Her tail fur grew back for the most part. The most puzzling thing is WHY was she on the bottom of her cage way before dark and clinging to her cage like she didn't want to be moved? I had to pry her from the bottom to get her out. If anyone has any suggestions or answers plus throw it my way. I'm a nerves wreck.

Hello Jess, I'm so so so sorry for your loss. This is the worst part about owning pets- you always outlive them.
my only possible guesses are that she was sick with an internal bug, or perhaps died of loneliness. Depression sets in on gliders when they live alone and despite our best love and affection, they can eventually die.
Other than some sort of cancer (which took one of my gliders) or depression, I can't think of anything...
I'm so sorry <3
