I saw in another post that someone was able to get their glider neutered for $67. Another person posted that they were told $275. I was quoted $50 for a pre-op check-up, $150 for the actual operation, and another $65 for medication after surgery. So, what is a normal price for neutering these little guys?

The price of neutering can vary from state to state and city to city. Go to the tool bar above - click on "Resources" and then "Vets" and see if there is one listed in your area. If not - you may have to post your area and state to get some feedback on the pricing.

I used to live in TN where It ranged from 64 dollars to about 200 or so in the few places i called.

Now I live in Ohio and was told like 250 at one place, the cheapest i can find is 120(need a vet visit and the surgery the actual neuter is only 80 dollars)

Now, the place that will do it for 120 is close, but I called vets four hours from me, so I think the best advice i can give is not to limit where you can go, find other vets within a couple hours of you and factor in gas, i know our car is very fuel efficient, so one tank of gas can get us pretty far and see what's cheaper

I just checked with another vet who quoted me $150 including the post-op meds. He didn't say if he needed a pre-op check, but I would probably assume so.

I called everywhere in a 2 hour radius and got quotes anywhere from $400 (eep!) with a required overnight stay to $90 with no overnight stay needed. Guess which place I'm going to! I used the vets page on glider central.

I paid just under $100 for 2 neuters. There was no over night stay either and no postop meds. My guys did great. They trimmed their nails too and that cost was part of the procedure expense. It is amazing the price difference especially when you compare them to fixing a female large dog. I think I paid under $100 for that procedure too.......including follow up visits.

Went up from $30 to $55 here in Dallas. These folks open, remove the testes and leave the pom intact. I very much like having sexable sugars left behind. I have two scheduled for early Jan.

Man I thought I had a deal at $99.50 but they "failed" to mention the cost of an initial visit which puts me up to $140. Oh well, they did say it was to make sure he was strong enough to go through the neuter and although they couldn't tell me an exact number for how many sugar gliders they do, they did 11 exotics this year including hedgehogs and some other small animals(their computer puts this all under exotic). And it is still the cheapest place I've found. Does it sound alright to you guys? I know the price might be high compared to where you live but so is the price of gas and searching anywhere else would put me outside my two hour driving radius. And it seems like a good place to me.
Look what I found on Ebay

Hi!

I got my boy fixed in Cary, IL. No overnight stay but the price was steep ($250+). Does anyone know anybody cheaper in the Chicagoland area?

Thanks!
