Ok my mameha has been prego for a while now!!! But yesterday before i went to bed i wwas spending some time with them, i gave mameha a mealie and she sat back to eat it and there it was a baby tail, i freaked!!! i mean i really freaked i got my camera, woke my girlfriend up, called my mom, and texted everyone!
So now i need as much info as possible, when can i start holding them, when are they gonna come out of the pouch, anything you can think of, i have allready read alot of caresheets and watched videos and stuff on it but i am feeling so un prepaired anxious excited and nervous i just need some comfort on the subject, also i have been hearing so many new noises can someone explain some of them...
I schedueled a vet appointment to have my w.f.b. spoon neutered and to have mameha and her babies checked, a total of 200 bucks Ouch, but all totally worth it! yay!!!

Congrats! LOL When I saw tails, there was about another week before I saw a body. You'll probably also see a random arm or foot in the next few days too! The sound that sounds like a saltshaker or sprinkler system is called "singing". I have no idea why. It's actually mom trying to dislodge the joey from her nipple because it's sore. It's normal though and you'll probably hear it for a few weeks. If you see her when she's doing it, she'll be shaking at the same time...all normal.

You can hold the joey as soon as it is officially dislodged from the nipple. That's when it is considered Out Of Pouch. If momma is very tame with you, you can start petting the joey bum when it is hanging out - before it is OOP. The first few times you hold him, make sure you don't leave momma's site. She may be very nervous. Then very gradually, you can hold the joey for longer and longer.

The eyes should open at around 10 days. From that point on, they grow SO fast!

At first, even though the joey is OOP, you maybe won't get to hold him often as he will nurse almost all the time. He may even crawl (or be stuffed by momma!) all the way back into the pouch!

Daddy should be babysitting in the evening. He will stay in the pouch while momma eats and plays.

Watch for signs of rejection. If the joey is out of the pouch, alone and cold. Or if the baby has bite or scratch marks - usually on the face. If the baby is alone in the pouch and crying, and the parents don't return to check on him. These are all warning signs. They are not very typical - but we tend to hear a good deal about rejection.

Hmmm. Have you read Suz's site?

I pretty much have the whole thing memorized! I bought her "rejected joey kit" just in case - but I've never had to use it!

I didn't buy the rejected joey kit, but I bought or obtained all of the makin's for it. If you are expecting joeys, you really need to do this. You never know when you may have to take over. If it happens, and you don't have the things that you need, you may not be able to help the joey in time to save it. It's the responsible thing to do. You also need to learn all of the warning signs (as mentioned in the previous post), and be on the lookout for any of them. Rejected joeys are not a rare occurence.
