I held them as soon as mom let me :) I didn't go out of sight though-mom wanted her back pretty quick.

ella hasn't had a problem with us holding them, but if they did cry she was anxious to have them back. at first we would hold her and the babies together for awhile, maybe we built up her trust doing it that way.

I think that's great! The joeys will know to trust you from early on. Careful what you wish for though...I wound up babysitting for an hour at a time after a week or two. LOL

Kyro, I had to laugh ... I had a vision of Mom and Dad in a theater enjoying a movie and popcorn -- and a break from the kids!

No kidding! Linus does NOT like being "stuck with the kids"! He is a very stoic, good daddy, but, when he sees me look in the pouch - he practically throws the kids at me so he can go play!

The suggie stork has visited our house twice, and all 4 joeys (2 each time)opened their eyes between 11 and 13 days OOP. Mom and Dad would let me hold them as soon as they were OOP. With the second set of joeys, though, it was the two older sisters from the first set that would fuss and fret whenever someone came near their baby brothers. As soon as I would put them down they would go crazy grooming them and trying to warm them up with their own bodies. Utterly adorable!

Sounds an awful lot like a lot of human parents.
