I'm sure most are well aware of the problem microsoft/internet explorer had earlier in the week. My husband downloaded the emergency patch on Tuesday morning. I was wondering if anyone has had any problems. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, last week Microsoft found what they call a hugh whole in their program for explorer. If I understood it correctly the whole allowed hackers to get in to your computer through the hole and take over your computer getting passwords and other personal info. They were able to come up with an emergency patch pretty quickly and urged everyone who used the program to download it. I just wondered if anyone has had any problems or if everthing has seemed to go well? More info about this problem can be found on CNN.

To anyone and everyone, if you have Windows set to download updates automatically, and IF (that's a big if!) you install the updates, you should be safe at the moment because an update when out earlier this week that should have updated your computer.

Of course, there is always the option to use a different web browser instead of the default one that comes with Windows. There are plenty of free options. Here are four popular ones

Apple's Safari, www.apple.com/safari/download/
Google's Chrome, www.google.com/chrome
Mozilla's Firefox, www.mozilla.com/

You'll find that some of these might be a bit faster as well.

Can someone post the link to the patch? I dont use Internet Explorer very often - but when I do, its usually to pay bills.
