My suggies were always sound sleepers and slept all day and woke up at 8:30-9:00pm. They have been getting up on occassion these last 2 weeks and having a time for themselves playing during the day. Their weight is OK, they are eating, drinking and seem fine but I am concerned at the change in their behavior.
My husband has been home from work because his job was eliminated so is it possible they are reacting to that change? I am sure he is a noisy boy wit the TV and the like!
Any thoughts on what I should do? Anyone have any experience like this? How did it resolve?

I had the same kind of change except opposite with my sugar glider Noah when I first got him. He used to wake up at about 6:00 and he would stay up all night but be asleep by the time that I woke up at 6:00 the next morning. However, after a few weeks he began getting up at about 8:30 and then he would stay up all night and into the next morning. He would still be awake when I got up. I was worried that he was getting sick so I talked to my friend's father (he is a vet) about the situation and he said that Noah should be fine. He said that it's normal for gliders to sometimes change their sleeping habits. However, if they change their sleeping habits constantly and aren't sleeping or aren't waking up a lot, then you should call the vet. Dr. Gibbs told me that Noah should be fine so I'm guessing that your suggie should be also. Hope I helped :D

They may just be reacting to the noise of someone at home-especially if they're both doing it. If they're acting, playing, drinking, eating normally otherwise, maybe see if they go back to their old schedule...or tell your hubby to quiet down. LOL

If you think their actual behavior is "off" also, I'd say see your vet.

Kyro is right... When in doubt... Hit the Vet! LOL Ok well dont hit them... But ya get it!

My kids, all of them have about 2 hours during the day that they come and wander! I put in a baby carrot and a strawberry or something in for a snack around 12. They get up at 1 and munch for a few, run for a bit, dangle and talk! Then back to the sack they go till about 9.

I have started waking my crew up at 7 for Rhi & Pop, 8 for Jane & Lizzie, and 9 for Sugar & Spice! Now with Sugars, Nibble and Joey we need to start a bit earlier! Nelson will not have me going to bed past 1... so we MUST be DONE so he can have his "Mommy" time! LOL
