I was looking at the BML diet and decided to try it out on my new joeys. However, I have ordered Vionate multivitamin, not the Rel-Cal Herptivite.
Does anyone know if i can substitute?
or if not a diet similar to the BML with Vionate..
i have the Rep-Cal Calcium Suppliment non-phosphorus and no added D3.

oh..and i thought the vitamins were a necessary part to their diet ie. they could not do without them
Ive recenetly read that some suggie slaves rely just on food for all the necessities and dont give vitamins?
Just wondering if I dont give my suggies vitamins will they still be getting enough calcium and everything else they need to be strong and healthy?

Hi! Yes, you can substitute Vionate for Herptivite. That is exactly what I do. Vionate doesn't have Menodione in it, which is extremely bad for gliders; Herptivite does.

I use human grade calcium carbonate in place of Rep-cal.

yay! thanks, this will make it alot easier. I didnt want to have to order yet another vitamin. do you use the BML diet? Im contemplating on either the BML or the Suncoast Diet. I get so confused with all the percentages and ratios :/

lol i do the calcium thing too

I dont feed BML - but do use powdered, human grade Calcium Citrate in my gliders food. Calcium citrate is more easily digestible than calcium carbonate.

Molly's mom what is Menodione. I use the herptivite in the bml recipe. This worries me. Should I put the vionate in it instead?
