Ok first of all I want to say thank you to all of you who have given me advice

I have went ahead and contacted Suz and explained to her everything thats been going on with the moms sore pouch and her actions toward the joey. She was very helpful and explained to me that it was not normal for her to have a sore pouch and it is most likely a pouch infection that the vet will have to look at immediatly. She also told me some sad news that I will have to remove the baby from the mom and hand raise him till she feels better

unfortunatly, when I called my glider vet to schedule an appointment he said that he no longer sees gliders

and gave me some other people to call. I called every place he recommended but they all said the same thing until finally one place was nice enough to tell me about a good exotic doctor. I went ahead and called, and what luck! He has examined many exotic pets and has seen many sugar gliders

I scheduled an appointment on this coming tuesday. I wish it could have been sooner though. Hopefully nothing is seriously wrong with the mom and I will try my best to raise the joey myself. I will try to keep you all updated
