We've had Sassy for about a week ago. She's warming up to us very quickly. Last night, was the first night I ever heard her bark. I think thats the word. Lol.
She would run on her wheel, stop, bark, wait till my boyfriend or I say something to her, then run again, stop, brak, wait for us to say something to her, run.... and so on.

Does anyone know why she would start barking all of a sudden? She hasn't really made many sounds, just some crabbing here or there.

Lol. Thats what I was thinking. She kept waking up the boyfriend and he was getting kinda mad.

He kept waking up and was like "Sassy, be quite just for a little bit." Lol.

LOL! She wanted you to get up and play!

I can't wait to hear how much fun these four girls are going to have together when you're able to introduce them. Sounds like Sassy's ready for some friends!

For the most part the barking is cute. But It can get on your nerves. They want out to play and someone to spend time with them.

We had her out for about 2, maybe 3 hours. We put her back in her cage, then like 3 hours later is when she started it.
It did get on my nerves, but then again it didn't bothering me. Lol.

I'd never heard Tazz bark until one morning and I thought it was someone with an annoying dog outside..... I was just about to get up and yell at my neighbours but I realized it was Tazz and once I picked him up, scratched behind his ears and gave him a snack he went right back to sleep.... Guess we know who owns who! lol

My gliders love to play "I Bark - You Bark" with me. It is the cutest thing!! They will sometimes do this for 30 minutes. They bark for me and I bark back... I love it!

It was pretty funny this morning! I had my alarm set early. I was too lazy to push two of the mammoth cages back into the glider room last night, so I decided to just leave them in the hallway near our bedroom. When the alarm went off, the boys in the hallway (four of them) all started barking! They wanted to make sure I didn't miss that important meeting this morning, either!

I am a new sugarglider mommy and I know very little about how to read their sounds. However, when Spiderman barked the other morning, I had a theory. I usually am up by 6am during weekdays, when he is still active. Last Sunday I awoke to a strange "barking" noise. There was my glider at the bottom of his cage making all this noise. I was worried and tried to reach for him. He let me pet him and then started racing around his cage. It wasn't until later that it occurred to me that maybe he was trying to wake me up-it was 6am and he was used to me moving around getting ready. He wasn't istressed, and to be honest, he has never "crabbed" or made any other sounds of significance. For those "seasoned" parents, could this have been his way of making sure I was awake?

or just trying to get your attention. Is he a lone glider? If so, he's probably lonely and would really benefit from having a friend. The only time I really hear mine bark is when they wake up and want FOOD! They rarely do it around me and it isn't something I hear very often. There are 6 of them together though so I think they keep themselves pretty entertained. Now that I think about it, when I hear the barking, everyone usually isn't awake yet so the one or two that are up first usually do it until I come in.

I was napping one day in the middle of the afternoon, and came out to find them playing. Apparenty they weren't expecting me cause once they noticed me they started barking at me like what are you doing interrupting our fun. It always makes me laugh.

I have 3 in my bedroom. One of my girls is always the first to wake up. When she gets tired of playing by herself, she barks until someone gets up and gives her some attention.
