so i heard sugar gliders can have a dust bath once in awhile for fun...seems to me dust would get in their eyes..anyone ever hear of doing this?

Chinchillas...yes. Sugar gliders...no way.

BIG no no!! Their respiratory systems can't handle it.

Chinchillas and hamsters take dust baths. They are from the desert, so it's natural for them to do so. Sugar gliders are arboreal animals that live in rainforests in the wild. They don't take dust baths. They groom themselves with their back feet, it has kind of a built in comb.
Some people do get the plastic chinchilla bath houses for their gliders, but it's not for taking a dust bath. You can use it as a glider kitchen, a place to serve their food that is enclosed so they can't make such a mess with it. But no dust.

Thanks for the Dust Bath/Kitchen Idea!!!! ive been thinking of making a kitchen for my lil guy, but I was wondering if there was anything else I could use, this Dust Bath idea is great!!!!

Dust bath houses also make great "toy pits". That's what I did with mine after using it as a glider kitchen for my boy prior to gettng him a couple of cage mates. Then I had to make a kitchen they could all fit in and the bath house was used as a toy pit. I have pics of this in my album...
