Are water chestnuts safe to feed? Can't seem to find info on them.Thanks

If we're talking water chestnuts from a can the answer is always going to be no.

They are frozen-included in a vegetable medley.

I don't see them on the lists of safe fruits and veggies, so I'd say no.

Ah frozen water chestnuts, they are neither on the not-safe list. So maybe someone else will come along that knows. For now I wouldn't feed them until you are sure though.

They're pretty high in carbohydrates and iron, and approximately 0.33:1 on the calcium:phosphorus ratio. They don't contain a lot of vitamins, either. I wouldn't make it a major part of the diet, though to occasionally have some for texture and variety in a vegetable medley wouldn't hurt anything.
