Can anyone help me locate breeders within 150 miles of Northern New Jersey.
The two I have come from pet stores which I sure come from mills.

Instead of purchasing from a breeder, why dont you check on Craigslist or Hoobly for gliders that are being rehomed? There are so many of them out there....

I agree, always check if gliders need to be re-homed or rescued first. =)

I also agree rescues are usually very easy to find.

I know rescues aren't as prevalent around here as some places. And many of them are mill bred anyway and you may have to deal with health problems and taming issues. I live on the Eastern Shore of MD. There are a couple breeders in central to western MD that I can recommend. One has standards and WF and one has Leucistics, hets, and mosaics. What are you looking for?

A rescue? Interesting.

AM yesterday mikini,catman, & our girlz suggested I check out rescue.

I made a few calls and by 6:00PM I had four more at my home. Two adults and two teens. So easy and sad at the same time.

The five of us thank you.

We still have the ID problem: seriously is there any thing that might help.

I heard that some ppl will pain one of the gliders toenails with non-toxic finger nail paint... But I would wait for someone elses oppinion just in case.

i don't know of any safe way to mark them...I agree though, at first, it's very hard to tell them apart. We had a brother sister rescue that was impossible to tell apart just by looking at them, but as you know, you get to know their personalities and can tell them apart that way. One of ours has a chunkier head than the others, one has a shorter tail(very easy to tell apart), one has a small tear in her right ear and one's stripe is a little thinner and darker than everyone else's. I just think that it's something that will take time! I'm so glad you decided to rescue!!

These are also the same things I have read. It does take time sometimes I still have problems telling mine apart you have to really pay attention. congrats on your find. Thank you for helping gliders that need a forever home. I agree it is sad that it is so easy to find gliders that noone wants.

I wouldn't worry about marking them. In time you'll see lots of differences in them, and they'll also let you know what their names are. Thank you for rescuing, it's so important to give unwanted gliders a good home.
