I bought my sugar glider Suggie from sugar gliders r us and when i came to the booth at the flea market Suggie ( which wasnt actually Suggie then) was scenting her well she started smaking him! poor dear so thats why i got suggie because i didnt want him to smaked any more just cause he was trying to accept that woman into his colony. I just wanted to know if anybody has heard any other bad thins about this place. I think they are a mill breeder
(Sugiie playing with me right now I wonder what he is thinking i am reading the whole thin out loud to him and every time he hears his name he is popping his head out of my shirt) ohhh yeah theres something else they are also a pellet feeder! I switched to a better diet as soon as you guys told me that i needed a better diet thanks soooo much Suggie probably wouldnt be alive today if it werent for you all teaching me how to take better care of him

Yes, they are a mill. Assume that everything they told you is wrong.

The cages that they sell are too small, the food they feed is wrong and I don't ever want to know their neuter procedure because I unknowingly let them neuter my sweet little Gizmo.

BTW Where is the flea market you refer to?

I know also that this place (Sugar gliders r us) promotes using leashes on sugar gliders. If you got one from them, please do NOT use the leash. It is very very dangerous.

Im disgusted with Mills, they have absolutely no regard for the life of these wonderful little creatures. Someone outta go there and boycott their next flea market excursion... I sure wish i could, but im halfway across the country

I was wondering if you could e-mail me and tell me when your aunt is gonna be at the london flea market again. I was really wanting a glider. If she could e-mail me pics and prices that would be great.. My e-mail is twhitaker22@yahoo.com
Thank You,
Jennifer Jones

I don't see how someone selling at a booth can "screen" buyers. It is difficult enough for buyers and rescue homes that talk to the buyers for weeks to ensure that the gliders are going to good homes.. To me, it seems that anyone that sells at a booth is not interested in giving the joeys the best possible home.

Plus -- any future gliders that I purchase (or adopt), I would like to know what conditions they're living in... Which means I'd like to actually go to breeders glider room and have a look.

because its like they are just selling puppies and kittens. they are everyday animals there isnt anything you need to really research about them since you grow up around them. so if you fall in love with a dog or cat you see someone selling at the booth and buy it there is no harm done. but if you replace the puppy and kittens with a sugar glider that is completely different. they are exotics the person most likly has no idea what they are getting into. gliders need a cage, the right diet, pouches, toys, a vet, and so on. how many people seeing a glider at a booth will have all of that set up for the glider they just saw at a booth. lots of research should done before buying them. thats how so many gliders end up for rehomeing or in rescues. its always best to adopt or buy from a breeder that you have talked to and know they are someone who cares about gliders.
i hope that made sense not feeling too well at the moment.

JenniferJ22:: If you have done a lot of research then I assume you know that you need atleast two gliders, right? Also, you would know that an adult glider bonds just as easy, if not easier, than a baby glider?

thats great. if she really wants to sell them tell her to make a site or something and only sell to people who know what they are getting into. but it would be nice if she would stop breeding and adding to the population. maybe suggest she try doing a rescue instead.
