I wash my girls fabric stuff with the same soap I wash my clothes in. Drop a bit of oxyclean in the wash and wash on hot. Works fabulous. Then dry in the dryer, just make sure to inspect things over for loose threads and such before you put back in the cage.

My pouches have stayed in great shape for over 2 years.

_Edited to fix my bad spelling.

I wash my pouches by hand, in white vinegar and water.
I then lay them flat, or hang them, to dry... I think doing so keeps the pouches in better shape longer.

I use regular hand/dish soap and super hot water (I need gloves because I use such hot water).

I just throw mine in with my other clothes like normal.

Wintersong, do you have a reason you do yours by hand and not with your other clothes?

I also just throw them in with the wash. Makes things so much easier.

My first few pouches, I tossed right in the washer and dryer.. but I started to notice piling on the pouches after just two or three washes (and that's with the pouches being made of anti-pill fleece).. With my hand washed pouches though, I've washed some over dozens of times already and can't really see much difference.

Another reason: One of my gliders favorite pouches was ruined by the washer --stitching on one area came out.

I have a hand wash cycle on my washer. I use that to wash their stuff with the detergent I use on our clothes.

I hand wash mine too, like WintersSong. I use vinegar and hot water with a little dish soap, then rinse well under cold water and line dry. It keeps the colors bright, the fleece doesn't pill and they smell fresh and clean.

Basically, you want no more than 1 cup of vinegar to a gallon of water. I generally use half that amount unless things are really smelly. Half-fill the sink with hot water, add 1/2 cup vinegar and a few drops of dish soap. Add the pouches and work them in the water. If you can't see suds, then add a few more drops of soap. You may want to add more water, vinegar and/or soap, depending on how big your sink is and how much fleece you're washing; you don't want too much soap, just enough to make a little bit of suds. If you have too much soap it's hard to rinse out of the fleece.

Sounds like everyone does something similar. I clean ours by hand, filling up one side of the laundry sink with HOT water and a very tiny amount of laundry detergent. I put the pouches, blankets, climbing ropes, etc. into the sink and using my hands (as long as I can stand the heat of the water) move, wring, flip and generally agitate everything. I will let them soak for about an hour then go back, drain the sink, rinse out any suds left and rinse out each item. Then fill the sink back up agitate again and then drain and throw the fleece items in then next load of laundry. I may put them in the dryer or I may hang them out over the sink to drip dry and check all seams for damage before returning to use.
