from what i've read and understand this is natural. it is a noise they make to tell each other or us to go away Jack and Jill do the same thing. Jack use to do it a lot more. I hope this helps.

Alachetti, you are referring to them barking not sneezing. Just a bit of a difference. Lunalover, have your baby checked by a vet, it could be serious. They are very fragile animals and I would hope you wouldn't want to risk its life. It may also just be allergic to you. (Yes, this is possible)

No I think she was referring to there sneezing sounds they do make! When something is new to them and they are smelling it for the first time you can hear it and when they are talking to eachother in the pouch! I thought Zoey had a cold the first couple times she did it and I rushed her to the vet and he said it was normal!
I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from taking there new babies to the vet I think a check up is always a good idea for all pets! And because your a new worried mom it may help to hear that your baby is healthy! It always makes me feel better when someone else tells me! Signs to look for with sneezing is runny nose, watery or cloudy eyes! If she has any of those then she should go strait to the vet!
But once again a helth check is always a good Idea!
Lots of luck!

Mine do this too. It sounds like they are "sneezing", but they are just talking to each other.

All 3 of mine do this. Sometimes when I watch them it sounds like they are sneezing but what they really are doing is spitting into their hands to clean themselves. They do sneeze ocassionally though, and also make almost the same noise when they are talking to each other.

bingman9517 I was referring to the sneezing not the crabbing. I have read this in a few sugarglider books and have experienced this by self.

Snezzing is made when the glider spit into his/her hand and cleans themselves as stated above. Crabbing is the mad sound and the chattering of teeth (that is what it sounds like) is when they are talking to each other. Barking is a warning sound to tell others something is not right. There are also a few other sounds. But 99% of the time the glider is not sick just cleaning.
