Weird. Never had this issue. My last rental the guy didn't even know I had animals.
This place family comes, the landlord comes.. Nobody can smell anything.

I've never had this issue either so I'm just trying to throw out some ideas. Is this room a place that they were let out to play? If so then they've probably marked areas and I would say cleaning walls and floors would help. Is is carpeted? If it's a hard surface, like tile, then use Fabuloso on it. It smells really good. If it's carpeted and their cage was in there then I would think having a professional carpet cleaning should do the trick.

If you are looking for a good, safe deodorizer for the carpet and mattress, try sprinkling some baking soda all over these surfaces, and let them sit for a good portion of the day. Vacuum it up well. Works very well for me. With thirteen gliders in my glider room, it does get a little funky by the end of the week, no matter how vigilant I am about cleaning. Of course, I have the most sensitive "stink" nose on the planet, I believe! :-P

Wow Mollysmom. I don't have that problem but just for the info, I'm going to try it for general deoderizing.

Sounds like a deep cleaning is needed. Empty room, wash walls, clean carpets, wash curtains or window covering. Before you put things back in the room check them for smells. Clean before re-storing them. Sounds like you will be busy.

If the smell is truly awful even after the deep cleaning you may need to think about repainting. Is there any chance that you have mold in the walls and that you are smelling it and the glider funk? You will probably want to rent a steam cleaner as well, and think about having the curtains cleaned if the smell is truly that horrible.

IF there is mold in the room (which I'm not saying there is, just IF there is), then you have an even bigger task ahead of you.

Ideas. Well for the floor do like Mollysmom said. curtains wash. Wash down the walls with nice smelling cleaner. If all else fails, as posted painting might be in your future.

Are any of your gliders males? If so, they may be marking everything when you let them out of their cage at night. Neutering the male will get rid of a lot of the odor. I have three gliders and the time I "smell" them is when I get near the cage and the fleece hasn't been washed in a while. But before I got Chester neutered.... WOW! My room was ripe as a tomato!

I like the smell of my gliders, kinda like a musky fruit! I have two girls though, that might be why
