I posted an ad on a website for a sugar glider friend for the one I got now & I got 2 replies. They both called gliders puppies ? I've never heard em called that before. But what I'm getting at is one lady said all I'd have to pay is 150$ and that goes to the transportation agency. She lives in california. She's being kinda rude about em though. I asked her why she don't want em no more, she said she aint got time for em no more. Plus she seems to be in a to big of hurry to get rid of em. Does this sound weird to anyone else ?

Um...yes...especially since they're illegal in California. What kind of transportation agency? In GA, you're supposed to purchase from a USDA licensed breeder. She cannot be a USDA licensed breeder in California.

Why Cali anyway? Why dont you buy nearer? They are giving them away on the Dallas Craigslist.

I agree with everyone else. I got mine from Hoobly - I think u can place an ad there for free. I know you can search by area too so you don't have to worry about their health and safety being shipped across country. I hate flying that far - and I fly almost every week for work lol - I can only imagine how scared they would be in a huge, loud new place. Always wondered how their ears would handle it. I know it's pressurized down below, but it still bothers my ears. Just a thought - I hope you find what you are looking for without too much hassle and crazy people :-)

That is a scam I've seen before. The one I saw previously was a family that was overseas for a mission and that they could no longer keep their puppy and all the person had to do was pay for the transportation for the airlines and they could have the animal. They just wanted a happy home for their puppy.

Don't ppl have anything else better to do with their time but scam ppl out of money. Just thought about it and I don't remember seeing any airline fly animals that cheap. I thought it was more around 200 - 250 range.

Well I have looked at Suncoast Sugar Gliders down in FL and they ship them through Continental Airlines for $150 but I still wouldn't trust the lady, she definitely wants your money and screams scam.

That's where I posted the ad. That or the kiji one. Ive posted ads on so many websites for one. I'd prefer not to fly one cause theyre so fragile and small.

The lady in California definitely screams scam.

If you get a glider from SunCoast - the glider's will be shipped during the day in a secured pet container. It can be a much easier mode of travel for the glider than a long hot car ride if you cannot locate a glider locally. SunCoast is an honest reputable source to get a glider joey. I believe your scam reference was to the California seller, but I want to make sure future readers of this thread do not think you were referring to Suncoast.

Any time you post an "I want a glider" ad, you are just asking for the scam artists to contact you. I suggest you limit your search to responding to ads from individuals posting in the classifieds here (and on GliderCentral) that they have gliders in need of homes or joeys ready for forever homes.

Think of your own safety before going out to 'meet up' with someone to pick up a glider. Always take some one else with you.

And yes I was saying CA seller sounds like a scam, and did not mean to tie Suncoast into that. I feel Suncoast is a good reputable place as well. And I go through them to get a lot of treats, vites, toys, etc. I tried to post their website as a good link through my profile but it wouldn't let me :(
