LMAO!!!!!!!

NICE Job Trolling Craigslist... I laugh at the fact that so many people took the bait. It's sad that there are so many people that are willing to just take gliders without the proper knowledge.

I don't understand why you'd post something like this? What was the purpose? It doesn't further education. It doesn't help the people who thought they might get a cool little pet.

I would probably have responded, also. A lot of those people are actually asking for further information. So - what's wrong with that?

Alden, in the post Terry actually put on Craigslist (I know cuz I did it too), there is a HUGE link to this website. He was just trying to get new and potential owners' attention so they could come here and check things out.

I think there are better ways to advertise the site.

Additionally, I think if this is the site that's being advertised, I'd like to see it being better moderated. But, that's just me, I guess.

We get that question all the time though guys. "My gliders keep breeding!! What do I do?!?!?" So it makes sense. You bring up a question a lot of glider owners have and you show them where they can find the answers. I see nothing wrong with this at all. Not putting down your opinions, just stating mine.

Also, can someone point me to where someone said somebody wasn't entitled to an opinion? As far as I can tell everyone's just stating their own opinions, not telling anybody they can't have one. And quite frankly I feel like the boards have settled down quite a bit and there's not so much drama floating around.

I wasn't saying anyone specifically said we weren't entitled to our opinions.
I just thought Elyse's response was irrelevant. As in, I'm sure Terry posted this for a reason...to get opinions. & To keep in mind that those opinions WILL vary. If it were anyone else would it have mattered what was said? Or do we have to keep our mouths shut because its terry who is posting, and he happens to run the site...People will have different views and rather than arguing over it, you can just accept it. You don't have to agree, but you don't have to be snarky either. It's common courtousy. I think in a sense it is a good idea, but not in the way it was done. It's misleading, and sure you link them to this website but then what? I thought the first craigslist post was sufficient, It actually listed the information. I think more posts like that should be done, but instead of completely misleading ads, misleading titles. Lets say "Cage for sale" Or "Sugar Gliders.." etc.
& with what Alden said, I probably would have responded as well..to help find SUITABLE homes for those poor gliders & try to give information as best as I could. What percent of those people who responded, do you think actually clicked the link? I know the same goes for reading...but its just a question.

Also Amanda what does your comment..."And quite frankly I feel like the boards have settled down quite a bit and there's not so much drama floating around." have anything to do with this post? If you have something to say to me, you can do so privately..if not I misunderstood what you were trying to say.

I forgot to add, that it is not directly pointing anyone to the information. It is advertising free gliders and theres simply a link that people choose to click or not... If there was a reference stating "to learn more" & then the link, I think that would draw more attention.

My comment about the boards settling down was in reference to Alden's comment about the moderators, not to anything you said B. To explain further, I feel like everyone's done a great job of not attacking anyone lately on the boards. People feel more free to post. In the past I felt like moderators were a good idea too, since there was so much snark and elitism going on. I personally feel like the boards have since settled down and there's not as much need for moderation now.

On the subject of moderators- I disagree. Yes, the drama has died down a bit, but that doesn't mean that moderators are not needed. Moderators are something I would like to see on this site, particularly as it attracts a lot of newcomers. Drama or not, moderation would be a great benefit to the website.
