Hey, everyone. Just writing to see if anyone owns or has seen a white, or some other rare colored glider. I've seen very few pictures of them and I'm just kinda wondering how rare they really are, you know? I read about someone buying a blonde one, and someone saying something about the usually white area below their jaw and around their face being an orangish color. It was someone who just had joeys. Short term memory! Fred has kind of an orangish tint in this area, but I don't remember seeing it when I first got him, so I attributed it to giving him so much cantaloupe. He loves it! James & Fred

I stay in contact with the lady I sold them to all the time so that I know that they are healthy and well treated. In fact, we are babysitting them right now (just for the week though). I miss them, but I think I made the right decision on their behalf. Anyway, colored ones are definitely more expensive than standards, but they are worth it too. My favorite is the Lion colored ones. They are amazing! If this gives you an idea though, the "perfect" lion (the lady's breeder male) would be around $5000!!! And of course to her, he's priceless. From my experience, most of the most rare and unusual colors are coming out of Texas, so just look around and see what you can find. wphsblonde Glider USA 137 Posts are platnum gliders almost like white gliders? ~Aubrey puck420 Glider USA 117 Posts not exactly... if you look at [website is banned], you can get a good look at some varieties. puck420 Glider USA 117 Posts That's the price I have seen too for some of the lions, however, the male I was speaking in reference to in my earlier reply has NO other color markings at all. As far as being muddy in color I mean. He is that gold/yellow color with a distinctive brown stripe, etc... That's why he is so valuable. It's up to him to keep new joeys as pure as possible since the breeder lady that I go through doesn't have a perfect female yet. But I agree, even the ones for $500 are gorgeous!!! (I say that like $500 isn't much HAHA!!)
Some photos from our members jtanimal Glider USA 115 Posts My sugar glider isnt a rare colored one, but the breeder that I got her through has rare colored gliders. Mike (sandman) has pics of them on his website and he has a waiting list for certain colors. I am a new sugar glider owner, and to date only own one sweet little girl named Nova, so I dont know much about the different breeders though there are several of them in this area (DFW, Tx), but I am totally satisfied with Mike, especially the after sale support. I would recommend him to anyone. jtanimal Glider USA 115 Posts pyn, I live fairly close to his shop also. My glider is now 9 weeks OOP. I was out at Traders Village one day and met Mike and his gliders, and had to have one. They are the perfect pet since I'm awake all night anyway. What about you, how old are yours? SuGaR gLiDer00 Joey USA 45 Posts Well i have only really seen 1 pic of a white glider but this is just me, i dont particularly like the white gliders...just my opinion........ Candiflip Glider Canada 63 Posts Well I think all Sugar Gliders are absolutely beautiful! No matter if they are gray, leucistic, albino, Blonde, white faced blonde, platinum, cinnamon, or calico. Ethan is very special to me and Does Not look like a mouse! He looks just like all my other sugar gliders, except he is all white. He has the same eyes, same nose, same size ears, etc. He does not have the characteristics like a mouse or rat! He is such a sweetheart and if you were able to interact with him like I do you would be able to see what beautiful special glider he is. Thank you Candice gliderlove Glider USA 178 Posts How handsome my goodness there are so cute! What is he albino? you are lucky to have suck sweet little ones. did you say traders village is were you got them? I have been there several times were did you see them at there? puck420 Glider USA 117 Posts Just so that it is clear...it seems some people are wondering...there is a big difference between albino and leucistic. If it is truly albino, it will have the red eyes (CREEPY!!), and to my knowledge, I have heard that albino animals can have a lot of health problems. I, personally, would not pay big bucks for an albino. If nothing else, they will have a higher sensitivity to light than even a normal glider. As far as the leucistic, they have the black eyes...they are the rare one that many are willing to pay the extra money for. It just seemed like there was some confusion. gliderlove Glider USA 178 Posts ok that seems right I was wondering because any thing albino would like you said have red eyes or at least what I have seen gliderlove Glider USA 178 Posts lol my oldest child had a white gerble and it scared me with those beaty red eyes staring me down when i walked by BlossomsDaddy Starting Member USA 9 Posts my fave is platinum....i gots a blonde.
