We've all seen how intelligent & curious our little furbats are. And I'm sure that I'm not the only one who's noticed how much they enjoy exploring new things, figguring out puzzles, and othere mentaly stimulating activities.

So, I'm wondering what are your favorite ways to provide this pleasent pastime? Is there a foraging toy you can make by hand? What are ur fav store-bought foraging toys? Are there any puzzle type toys that your snuggies enjoy?

I've recently started to 'hide' his fruit & veggies around the cage. Also I've provided Fritz with strips of felt and eaucaliptis (sp?) branches & leaves that are also scattered about the cage. I also just made him a 'pool' of cut straws in a deep plastic bin. I'm slowly adding to his collection of vines & toys. Plus he gets a decent amount of out of cage time, recently the average is prob 3 hrs a day.

I love the cube-o-fleece!

My girls love their ball pit which is sometimes a fleece pit (fleece blankies and scraps in their ball pit instead of the balls!) Be prepared to find fleece EVERYWHERE afterwards lol!

My girls love the big Easter eggs stuffed with treats/toys like the rings off milk jugs, chewable wood pieces, fruit, mealies, etc; a ball pit, a toddler's bead track thing, and just about any kind of moving/bouncy/climbing thing! They are WILD!!! LOL

I love the idea of the ball bin. Will start that project tonight..

Was thinking of doing a similar idea to the glider kitchen to try and keep the balls inside but obviously with the entry holes above the balls. Any thoughts?

Would the beads possibly be a hazard?
And is plastic a hazzard? I have a few parrot toys in there for my glider little rings and such for it to crawl through but I worry about them being hazardous.

GREAT setups! You should totally market the wiffle ball toy it'd sell like hotcakes to glider owners! :P

I like the idea of doing an upside-down kitchen style ball bin...will have to keep that one in mind (definitly easier to keep clean).

Also love the idea of making the wiffle ball & straw toy into a foraging toy.

And I'll have to keep my eyes open for easter eggs as that time approaches (I doubt any store has them now, lol).

Also like the idea of the hanging bowl & fleece cube (though I would think that every now & then I'd find Fritz sleeping in it, lol). It looks like it's made from the left overs of the PVC coated construction mesh that people use to make the cages, right?

it's actually a semi-hard plastic, it's plyable enough, to bend, and comes in a roll. i bought in at my local country feed store. i think it's used for gardens or something, i've seen people use it to make shelves and bridges for their gliders

Blackberrydowns, this thread is a little old. GG is pretty active so if a thread is more than a month old chances are there is no need to reply to it but it is still useful to look at.

You can start your own thread easily. Then just ask that same question in your own thread. That way you will get more responses.

I see someone else has been to the sugar glider store. On our last order they sent us some little treasure chests Our girls Love them. We put mealies and fruit snacks in them and place around room .It is amazing how they remember all the hidding places and I am always challenged to find new ones. Our girls love the golf ball with the straws.I go MC D's and get new straws after they chew them up. I just orderd 144 treasure chests since they don't last long I think they are about 10cents each. but well worth it keeps babies buisy.

It's funny how I look at EVERYTHING differently. I C something & immediately start thinking about how I can turn it into a safe toy for my babies! LOL! That being said, last night as I dumped the contents of a melted ICEE down the drain,... as my hand hovered over the trash can about to release the plastic cup, I thought WOW! So I washed the cup, put their fruit in it & just laid it on the bottom of the cage. They had to crawl all the way inside to get the yummies, which they did as well as pushing the cup all over the cage! I also used a milk jug the night b4,... I have a pic of that one that I'll post.....

Oh no go ahead and post away. I just saw that you had a small amount of posts, sometimes when people start out they reply to really old threads and then wonder why no one responds...lol I was just trying to give a potential new person some guidance but you have obviously got it down! I noticed you on etsy. You gave my Star Cove it's first admirer. Thank you for that.
