So last night took a long leafy thing out of one my flower arrangments and was running it along the outside of the cage and she went nuts. I put it though the holes and she would jump for it and grab and play. I was so excited to find something that she wanted to really play with. I could not believe how excited she got. So my question is can i make something out of feathers or maybe the fake leafy stuff and hang it from the top of her cage for her to play with? I just want to make sure this is safe for her to play with while i am not around.

I know a few members use craft vines in or on their cages, but I would be careful with feathers. Mine like to rip them up and try to eat the feathery part, I don't know what they are made of so they only get to play with them while I'm in the room to take it away when it gets too best up.

Make sure you get the fake vines that have no wires in them...look for the plastic loops.... Avoid any tiny flower embellishments that they can pluck off and choke on.

I would think Walmart or craft stores for the vines. I am going to get some myself for my sugbabies.

I have the ones like in the photo above (no wires, get the ones with the rings) and my gliders love them.

I found some vines without wires at my dollar tree awhile back.

I got them at Hobby Lobby on a 1/2 off sale. I find the craft stores, while a little more expensive (hence the 1/2 off sale I hit! LOL) are much better made than the ones from say WalMart or the like...and when it comes to the babies I would rather have better made because you will not believe the beating they will put on those poor plastic plants. They enjoy plucking the leaves off and hiding them in their pouch or tossing them around the cage.
