I went to petco to pick up milk replacer. I posted yesterday about hartz vs ebsilac, and was given excellent info about Ebsilac being better, so i went to get some.

The woman at petco told me to get Ebsilac Goat milk because it is healthier and easier to digest for possums, exotic animals, etc...

What do you guys think? I bought both the regular and the goat milk just in case, they are for my nursing momma glider.

Goat definitely. I use only goat products and have no complaints. It's easier to digest than soy or cow milk.

If you have your gliders on a good diet, you should not need to use a milk supplement for your mother glider.

What diet are you feeding to provide protein, vitamins, minerals and to meet the calcium needs for all of your gliders?

Candy--I don't see the harm in supplementing? I had a little girl that had a hard time producing enough milk for twins unless I supplemented her diet. The worst supplementing a nursing mom could do is give her a bit of extra weight, which is better than the babies being on the skinny side.

I just had my gliders at the vet yesterday, vet says my gliders are fully hydrated, have nice thick silky coats, and are completly healthy. They are fed the BML complete diet, with fresh fruits, veggies, and mealies every day. I dont "need" the suppliment, but the mom is doing an AMAZING job nursing on her own, i just want to offer it to her just in case she wants it to make her motherhood as smooth and problem free as i can.

I agree with you Dichroic :)

You can just as easily increase the amount of the regular staple or offered a little yogurt rather than using a milk supplement made for other animal's nutritional and digestive needs.
